Why Word95 starts with big delay sometimes?

I have the old Word95 under WinXP and it works very well. The Word95 is not
hard and clumsy as Word2k is. But sometimes my Word95 starts with big delay,
or Open window of the Word95 opens with big delay. And sometimes Word95
gives Not Responding.

How can I find reason of this behaviour? Is there a log of system events
where I will be able see what was before this mistake?

I tried to look in Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event
Viewer, but there are only very old events there.

Where can I read about this?
