why won't picture print ?

I am trying to print pictures/graphics, logos in word. i can insert and see
them on the screen, but they won't print. ( only a black square where the
graphic should be ) any ideas ? It's really frustrating >

On the Tools menu, click Options. Click the Print tab. Make sure that
the option to print drawings is checked, and then click OK.
