In MS Word, why the spelling & grammar check does not detect extra space
between words in my computer where as it does in other computer with same OS
and Programme i.e. windows XP and Office 2003?

If you mean extra spaces between sentences, this is a setting that can be
made in the Tools>Options>Spelling & Grammar dialog. Click the Settings
button & change the Spaces Required Between Sentences to 1.

I don't know of a setting that pertains to actual spaces between words. The
default behavior is to catch 2 presses of the spacebar, but if the spacebar
has been pressed more than twice or the space is the result of pressing Tab
the Grammar Checker ignores it.
