Why must I type "http://"????

For some reason, I must now enter "http://" for any url that I want to get
to. For example, I used to be able to type www.msn.com and IE would
translate that to http://www.msn.com and to that site. Now, when I type in
www.msn.com, it won't do anything! If I type the full address, no problem.
What gives? What switch do I need to flip? This is driving me nuts!!

Try IE/Tools/internet options/content auto complete

Don - thx for the tip. I checked the registry entry and everything is fine.
Funny thing is that the other userid on this machine does not have this
problem. Is there any registry entry I should verify for current user? Any
other ideas?

I found the default prefix was set but there was also another default prefix
on another key that was blank - fixed it and now all is well....thanks to
all for the help!
