Why is xp causing my keyboard

Why is windows xp not letting my keyboard not to function
properly in ps/2 port ... I have some hoy keys that this
keyboard has but once i try to install the driver for
it .. it wouldn't work ... If i plug it into the usb port
it works there but then the problem i have there is when
i try to shut down or restart my computer it take now for
ever ... takes a long time almost 2 minuts ...
 
Are you referring to special hot keys at the top of your keyboard? If so,
these are controls by the keyboard maker's special software/driver - XP
doesn't handle this.
