Why is the "do not check spelling" box keep marking itself?

For some reason, Word is not checking my spelling as I type. I have even
tried changing it in the Set Language tab, but still keeps reversing itself.
I am working on a very important document and can not have any errors. Help!
 
Usually this happens because a style has this as a setting. To find these
quickly, either Find, More, Language, check "Do not check spelling or
grammar" or Print, Print What, Styles.
To ensure that this setting is not active somewhere in your document, select
the whole document Ctrl+A, deselect "Do not check spelling or grammar", then
do your spell check.
