Why is my system choppy when stuff loads?

Whenever I listen to my music on my computer, I will always go to internet explorer and surf the web. While it is loading, the music gets choppy and the system gets choppy. Sometimes it just happens randomly. What's wrong?

By listen to music, do you mean playing a CD or from content
actually stored on your PC's hard drive ?

If it's a CD, then most likely the drive is not operating in DMA
mode. The slow access of the drive is reflected in the "Stuttering"
sound.

If audio data is "streaming" in from a slow DUN ISP connection, this will
make it "choppy." Get Broadband, ISDN or DSL.

What are your system specs? Have you checked for the latest drivers for
your audio card?

If you have a celeron processor, that is the cause of your problem.
