out...its lots of little lines with darker shading....it just doesnt look
like it does on the screen when i print it out!! Please help!!

Hi Destiny,

Perhaps you can describe a bit
more in detail on the version of Word you're using, the printer
type and how you're applying the background in Word.

In general, if it's a "pattern", Word uses the 96 pixel per inch
spacing on your screen to display it but when printing the
dot/pixel per inch setting of your printer would be used, which
can reduce the 'gap' between dots/lines when they print to the
point where it can appear to be a solid color bar.

Hi Bob,

first let me tell you if you are able to help me out...it would take away a
tone of frustration!! : ) okay so im using microsoft word 2003, i am trying
to make a flyer, and i put a background on it, for the background i did a
"fill effect" using the "gradient". Now, on my screen it looks good and all
kinda fades in and out, (im doing it in blue and white) and it looks really
good, but when i go to print it, instead of fading in and then out
diagonally, in huge stripes(striped wouldnt even be a good way to describe
it) when i go to print it, it is diagonally a ton of stripes and the stripes
are very defined(if you go into word...you'll see what i mean) I have a Canon
S300 printer. Thanks!!
Destiny
