In office 2007 word, under paragraph is the item line spacing. When I use
single space , it is like a 1 1/2 space. This is much wider than it was in
office 2000. How do I get back to the same spacing measurement in 2000

There are several ways to get back the Word 2000-2003 defaults.

Method 1: Create a new document based on the Office Word 2003 Look template
(Office button | New). Repeat this each time you need a new document with
the look of Word 2000-2003.

Method 2: Set the desired defaults via the Styles pane. To display it, press
Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S. Click the Manage Styles button. Click the Set Defaults
tab. Specify the desired settings. Click "New documents based on this
template." Click OK. If prompted to save the template, choose to do so.

Method 3: Click the Home tab. In the Styles group, click Change Styles |
Style Set, and choose Word 2003. Then click Change Styles | Fonts, choose
Office Classic. Then click Change Styles | Set as default.

Method 4: Change just the line spacing, for example as explained in the
article suggested by garfield-n-odie.

Are you sure it is a line spacing issue. A lot of times if you see a spacing
difference it is really because the before and after settings are off under
Format, Paragraph. Make sure Before and After are set to 0pt, not auto, or a
number, or blank.

That should clear up most spacing issues where single spacing isn't really
viewing as single. I find this a lot if I am cutting/pasting text from the
internet.

Good point, but note that when you are changing the defaults, you can change
the Spacing Before/After values as well.

Good afternoon. I followed the steps in the document and it did not work.
Any additional advice?
