Why IMAP so Inconsistent, fickle, not user friendly etc. vs POP

I previously had pop settings, very easy to operate in outlook just your
standard folders piece of cake mail comes in on my ISP server then creates
a copy to Outlook. 2 weeks ago I got a smart ph. that needed
IMAP settings to operate. Contacted my ISP server (Clearwire) and also
changed
setting in outlook to IMap. Things then became very unpredictable & weird,
deletions very unpreditable, fatal error messages, opening folders very
slow,messages going into different multipul inboxs, not giving me the
audible tone that a message has been received. Where as that message should
be going into the gmail inbox with a tone which it does some times Its
like I have a virus in that program & the rest of the comp.programs are
perfect.
I went from 6 standard pop folders to 33 Imap Folders (2 of
those I personally created) when these folders are compressed I have 3 main
folders Personal Folders.. Archive Folders.. imap.gmail.com folders , & 27
folders on my phone. ISP server tells me that because it is
g-mail it really does not work well with outlook and I should look at an
other
e-mail program like Thunderbird, ( I want to keep my outlook!) or go back to
pop which will just go to my phone but then I could not receieve on outlook,
Cell provider seems to think not, I have gone round & round with these 2 the
past 2 weeks & still can't get a straight answer. ISP also told me that 2007
( which I am
not opposed to getting) appers to be more stable with g-mail. ISP has removed
re entered & checked new IMAP setting nuerous times so has cell on the
phone settings Can you help? I am not
the brightest bulb in the pack but follow instructions to the T keep the
technical lingo to a minimal as to understand. If I did not explain myself
correctly or need more info please state as I desperately need your advice

Yes, you previously asked the same question. Go read relies to your
prior post dated Nov 8. Then reply to THAT discussion if you want more
help. That you abandoned your old discussion is your fault for not
keeping it current.

Sorry I not trying to be dumber than a pocket full of rocks but yes I did
post that question on Nov 8th but I never did receive a reply and I did
check the Discussion page on Nov 8th Nov 9th and Nov 10th for a reply and
there were numerous 1 posts with no replies on those dates so I assumed there
was problem with the MS discussion site. You say go read my replies, that I
abandoned my old discussion “I am desperate to seek advice†why would I
abandon I can honestly say I did not abandoned my discussion, there was
never any responses only the original post I made upon checking. I have used
MS discussion numerous times and has always responded to my post and rated
them, but something is not right with IMAP and now possibly my MS discussion
settings? . Can you assist me please and tell me where to look for these
past replies? I don’t want to appear clueless but I can’t find that Nov 8th
post so I can read and reply, I really need some advice on my problem
concerning IMAP.
