why has the font, bold and underline tool bar not displaying

why has the font, bold, and underline tool bar disappeared from the top of
the page when using microsoft word
 
If the toolbar which displays the font, bold, and underline buttons are gone
it means the toolbar isn't active. Right click the empty space next to a
toolbar and select formatting. This should return the toolbar.
