Why has Outlook started to open all e-mail Word attachments Read O

Something has changed in my settings. Now when someone sends me a Word
document as an attachment it is a Read Only file. I can't change it in
properties because the cheeck box is greyed out. I've looked at my security
settings. I can't seem to figure ourt what has occured. My only option is
now to save it under a new nameand that is a hasssle.
