why don't I have "search" option in TOOLS

In using the "office assistant to :delete non existing file from "open" list
it was sugessted that I go to TOOLS and click on the "search" option.....I do
not have that option-why not?

Dear Terry:

Insufficient data.

Are you operating in Microsoft Access? Do you start out Files/Open? Then
do you get the "Open" dialog? Across the top, does it have a set of icons,
then Tools with a downward arrow? Click the downward arrow and see
"Search". Where does this process fail? At which step, and in what way?

Thanks for your reply....Your steps brought me to the "missing" search....I
was trying to find it from the "main" window>tools.....
