Why doesn't my home page update when I save and publish it?

I have a website which I created and maintain via Front Page. It usually
works well, but for the past month or so my home page will not update. That
is, I go in and change my homepage and save the changes and then publish the
site. However, when I go to the internet the changes are not reflected. I
have repeated this process several times with no success. All of my other
pages update without problems, and the homepage eventually shows the correct
updating after browsing my cite's other pages, but each time I open the cite,
the outdated page comes up again. This causes some confusion since the
outdated page says that we are closed on Monday to honor Martin Luther King
Jr. Day.

maybe you have two home pages... index.htm and index.html ? or default.htm
and default.html?
