Database Results Error when publishing

I get the following error message when trying to refresh a Database Results
page while FP2000 is publishing changes to my website. Specifically, I'm
publishing an updated Excel spreadsheet that serves as my database:

Database Results Error
[Microsoft][ODBC Excel Driver]General error Unable to open registry key
'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0x1638 Thread 0x15d4 DBC 0x2a1a3944
Excel'

If I keep clicking refresh, I will keep getting the same error while the
changes are being published. And if I continue to click refresh even after
FP is done publishing, I eventually get the error message: "Database Results
Error Unspecified Error". However, if I just sit back for a few minutes and
let FP finish publishing without interrupting it by clicking refresh, I can
eventually click refresh and the page will pull up just fine. Therefore, it
seems to me that a file at the server is trying to update without being
interrupted with a "refresh request".

While I can certainly be patient and let FP finish publishing, it's unlikely
the other 100 users of this site will be so patient since they're all going
to be after time sensitive data all at once. I'm concerned everyone will be
clicking refresh all at once and this file will never update properly b/c of
so many "refresh requests". So, my question is, is there anyway this page
can display the old data, and without an error message, while updates are
being published?

The excel format is a single user format which is really not a good for use on the web as you can
see, you need to use a Access database as your data source.

Thomas: Ugh, I was afraid that would be the answer. Do you think I can
simply save my excel spreadsheet as a access database and then use it? I
realize I would have to change the database connection in my website among
other things but do you think it could possibly be that simple?

Yes, if you have the option, otherwise you will need to create an Access database and then import
the Excel data.
