Hi

I want to set up a Start Menu item to search for people (a la Windows
2000). A bit of digging reveals that Start > Run wab /find will
work. But wab doesn't exist as an executable on my system and the
command wab /find won't run from e.g. a command prompt.
I guess Microsoft have done something to make it work from Start >
Run.

Does anyone know what they've done (I like to understand these things)
and how I can use it in a shortcut?

Thanks in advance

Wab.exe (Windows Address Book) is an Outlook Express
tool. It usually resides in "c:\program files\Outlook Express".
If OE is installed on your PC then creating a shortcut to
"c:\program files\Outlook Express\wab.exe" will work
equally well on Win2000 and on WinXP.

If you have specific questions about wab.exe and its
switches then you should post them in an Outlook Express
newsgroup.

wab.exe is an executable. It works from run as that uses the AppPaths
key in the registry to determine the location of the exe, whereas
command line and shortcut just use the path environment. Wab.exe should
be found at c:\program files\outlook express\wab.exe. Point your
shortcut to that location and it should work fine.
