When using the Speech Tool in Office XP, it disables Google and/or MSNSearch.
However, I can still send and receive e-mail via Outlook. I have had to use
System Restore to make the search engines work, but then the speech
recognition tool is lost. Can you help?

Hi Jim,

The Office dictation tool can also work in Internet
Explorer. If you turn off the Speech Tools and then
start Internet explorer is there a problem?

You may want to also check with the folks in the
speech newsgroup through http://microsoft.com/speech
to see if this is familiar to them.
