Why does the "play" box get unticked after I play shockwave/flash

I am in the process of embedding a shockwave flash file in a powerpoint
presentation

after I save and play this once - the "play" box in properties gets unticked
and I cannoot replay or even exit the presentation - what am I missing?

You're not missing anything. PPT just does this, I don't know why. I do know
it's irritating.

Shyam Pillai has a FlashBack add-in that will resolve the issue.
