appears on the left hand side of my web site and it looks terrible.

It is in your top shared border (in the folder named _borders in the file name top.htm)
- Tools Site Settings Advanced - show hidden folders to see the _border folder
Just click the Banner and delete it

The above is from one of your pages, the content="tlrb" means you have top,
left, right and bottom shared borders turned on. If you're not using them
and have nothing in them, you may have misunderstood what a shared border
is. They share content with every page that has them turned on.

Don't use them if you don't need them. Read the Help files in FP for more
info.

You turn them on/off at: Format | Shared Borders - try it on an unimportant
page first.

thanks Rob (Crash)

i have now looked at 12 pages and none of the pages i have looked at say
what you have found, they all have <meta name="Microsoft Border"
content="none, default">

i did go to the pages, but the shared borders is greyed out. I'm wondering
if this is down to how i consturcted the pages, it was orignally created by
someone in html and then i copied it into FrontPage to create the site,
adding pages to a one page site,

i really apprecaite you taking the time to answer, but think all i can do is
to start again - hang on, i did that, building it up from the index page, but
still had the same problems

so if you can think of anything else. and thanks for the replies so far
