Why does "Right Shift + k" not produce upper case K

I have been going through all the Accessibility features to try to disable
this feature, but I have not been able to do so. The keyboard is OK as left
shift k works and right shift on other keys.
When I am in a wordprocessor, it seems that the rightshift+k turns on/off
the ability to select portions of text with the mouse - why this is indeed
the case, I wonder.
The system is XP Home with updates to date.

I realy hope there is somone out there that can assist.

Since the behavior is repeatable, it sounds like it is intentional. Perhaps
a keyboard shortcut built in to the word processor or one that has been
added, for example, to a document template? Does left shift K work as
expected in other programs?

Thanks for the reply, but it didn't help as this has nothing to do with the
wordprocessor, as it is the same in all, e.g. word, notepad, excel... so it
must be a part of the XP system (of course it is possible that this is a
shortcut within XP, but I would not know where - looking hasn't helped me).
Yes LeftShift+K works as expected in all instances.

It's not a Windows shortcut. You need to figure out what has added this to
your setup. I gave you a few suggestions based on your mention of the
problem when in your word processor.

If left-key-shift+K produces the same result in all programs, it falls
into the "global" category. Something of that nature could be added by a
program running that is allowed to run in the background or by an add-on
keyboard mapping program.
