Why does Outlook 2007 want to start in safe mode?

For some unkown reason, Outlook 2007 Pro crashed. Now every time I start it,
it says there's a problem, do I want to send an error report, and that I have
to shut down Outlook and restart in "safe mode". First I ran system restore
to a period prior to the problem, then I uninstalled Outlook and reinstalled
it, ran the updates but am still getting the same error message.

Any ideas?

Have you run scanpst.exe? Have you tried starting Outlook in Safe mode? start->run->outlook.exe /safe

If none of this helps, please post back.
