Why does Outlook 2000 automatically zip Excel attachments?

I have 2 desktops out of 17 that automatically zip Excel attachments when
sent through email using Outlook 2000. I cannot find a difference in the
setups on these machines. What am I missing?

Outlook can't do this natively. You probably have an add-in installed that
does this.

That some 3rd party .zip archive software was installed. Compression of
attachments is not a function of Outlook.

Thanks guys, found a fixed the problem, Quickview Plus was the culprit.

QuickView adds an add-on to Outlook.

Tools -> Options -> Other -> Advanced, check add-on and plug-ins. Quickview
will be listed there. If you wish to keep Quickview installed but not use
in the Outlook, it should have a configuration option to disable that
integration; otherwise, just disable it (uncheck it) in the options dialog
mentioned above.

I got rid of Quickview due to conflicts with other software, plus it got
sold off and I didn't feel like paying for a bogus upgrade that was mostly
to rebrand the product to get a newer version to merely get a bugfix since
nothing in the next version gave me more bang for the buck. As I recall,
you can set the size threshold below which the attachment does not get
compressed and above which the attachment automatically gets compressed.
