why does my web site look different on different computers?

Every time I check out my new web site on a different computer, the pages are
distorted. I have been told to change the page properties, but do not know
how. I have changed the page properties on my index page and now the index
page is VERY distorted.

Please Help!

You are probably using a design that is variable width, which means it
"adjusts" according the the resolution/screen size you are viewing on. Can
you provide a URL for us to look?
