Why does my text turn to ######?

I have A -D and 6 - 10 (A6 - A10, B6 - B10, C6 - C10, D6 - D10) all merged
cells with text wrapping. Under data, validation, the validation criteria is
set to Allow Any Value.

Why is it that I have plenty of room to type in the area, but my text turns
to ##########?
