Hi all..

Would appreciate any assistance. I've been using Windows
2000 pro for 2 years now, without any problems. I've
service pack3 and all patches and fixes installed. Just
recently my IE started to give me problems when visiting
websites. It would connect to a website, load the page,
but then it would hang for at least 25 seconds before I
can do anything, even using the scrollbars.

I've check my system for spy or adware and it's clean.

Please help.

Lisa

I am having the same problem, but with Windows98. Just ran
spyhunter for second time this month to get rid of spyware
- did not improve situation at all. Thanks, Ken

My computer just started doing this yesterday (2/28). We
have windows XP, and a cable modem. I get to the sites
lightning fast, and then it hangs on me for about 30
seconds, just like you described. Very frustrating when
you are paying big $$$ for cable. Have you received any
feedback?

I just found a suggestion in a previous message on this
board. Go to tools/internet options/advanced and uncheck
"enable third party extentions". This worked for me,
though I don't claim to understand why.

That fixes the symptom. To fix the problem see

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

I had the exact same problem - here is what I did to fix
it.
In Internet Explorer:
Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
Uncheck "Enable Third party browser extensions"
Close Internet Explorer
Then Restart computer.
"No more Problem"
