Why does my cursor unexpectidly move when I'm typing?

After typing several words in a document, my cursor jumps to other places in
the document, on it's own.

I recently installed Microsoft Office and vaguely remember reading something
about "after pressing the space bar 5 times.....". I can't remember!

I know this sounds odd, but.....any suggestions?
