Why does <end> appear at the end of a contact note?

After writing a note in a contact's note field, once I go back to the Outlook
Contact's area, an html tag <end> appears at the end of the note in the
preview field area. Does anyone know why it is doing this, or how it can be
removed?

What is your version and build number of Outlook?

-Create an Office 2003 CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 1

It's not an HTML tag, just a little text to let you know that what you're
seeing in AutoPreview is all the text that exists in the item.

Ok that might make some sense. But the older versions of Outlook didn't have
that. And I would just assume that what I saw on the screen was all there
was. I'd also probably open the item to see what was there if I really cared.

But back to the orginal question, how do you get rid of it? It's really
annoying.
