Why Do Post Get Answered of Not?

I would like help understanding why a particular post, that appears to be in
the correct news group, does not get answered.
(I'm really don't want to sound like a winer even though I know it does) I
would just like to understand how to post effectively to get my questions
answered)

I posted a question about a problem I am having linking to an exchange 2000
public contact folder from Access 2K.

I posted this question a couple of weeks ago and again this morning. I
realize today is Sunday and you good folks might have other things to do
than respond to newsgroup questions. I guess my frustration comes in from
the post a couple of weeks back

The error is "The MAPI store is know but not available in the current
profile.

The only reasons I can think of that my question would not be answered are
as follows.
A: wrong new group. (Would someone normally tell the postee that they should
post in a more appropriate news group?
B: Insufficient information in the post (Would someone normally ask for
additional clarification?
C: Lack of knowledge on how to solve the problem within the newsgroup( I
find this one hard to believe)
D: I am known as a winer and people just love to mess with my mind( I'm not
much of a conspiracy theorist but could be considered a bit paranoid.

If my previous post was answered, within the time I started writing this and
then sent it, please forgive me for being impatient along with being
paranoid.

Just my personal comments....

Oftentimes, if a post is made to a group that isn't the best place for it,
this will be pointed out by someone (but not always).

Oftentimes, if more information is needed to better understand the question,
it will be requested (but not always).

Sometimes, no one who sees your post has an answer/solution to suggest
(doesn't happen often, but none of us know everything). Sometimes, one of us
will take on as a personal learning exercise such postings; but that will
depend upon how much time a person has at that moment to delve into the
issue and do research/learning.

The best way to receive a reply is to follow the Netiquette rules (see
http://www.mvps.org/access/netiquette.htm for them). One thing that is often
overlooked by posters is a descriptive subject that tells the people
browsing the posts what you need help doing. Also, limiting a post to one
question helps get answers as oftentimes it can get very confusing to work
through a long list of items.

Sometimes, people "miss" your post. If you've not received a reply in a few
days, then do repost it (and indicate that it's a repost because of no
reply).

Yeah....what Ken said...and:

I scan posts looking for those that have no replies yet...then I apply Ken's
logic: Subject in my area? Enough info? Right group? etc.

Unfortunately, knowledge of MAPI and Access is esoteric. Not many
people know, and fewer understand. In fact, the only postings I have
seen from people who understand MAPI automation come from people
who have used extended MAPI in C++ or Delphi. This question is
probably even worse, because it looks like it has something to do
with configuration and permissions: only administrators know that
stuff. What chance you will find a system admin with MAPI C++
experience in an Access news group :-(

I think that question was not answered because no one here has an
answer. You need to also ask in MAPI and OUTLOOK newsgroups.
