Why do pics show fine on screen, but print double?

- Bringing .JPG or .BMP pictures into PPT via Insert/Picture/From File,
sizing and positioning works fine. Presents properly on screen. Printing
however - picture shows up twice in its location. Height of pic is cut in
half, with original pic presented twice, one on top of the other. Have
updated to PPT 2003 SP1.

I have found that SP1 has caused issues with certain printers printing
images. It seems that the Compress Picture Option of 200 dpi for the printer
has become the default, and not every printer can handle that. If I adjust
that setting back to 96 dpi, it prints fine. I do not know how to alter the
default settings for this however, and everytime I go back they are switched
to 200 dpi. If someone might be able to help me with changing this setting
back permanently I would appreciate it.
