why computer freezes when installing or up dating?

when i try to get tech help or installing or updating everything freezes up!
when i try to restart computer, it takes too long and i have to shut down
manually. just got new computer a few days ago. i can access internet, no
problem just what i mentioned above.

A new computer shouldn't be showing those problems. Contact their tech
support and have them fix it or consider sending it back.
