why can't more than two calendar items show in the month window

I use the month window in outlook calendar to check my schedule every
morning. It will only display two items even though it looks like there is
room for more. Going to the week or day window is inconvenient, because one
has to scroll through all hours. Is there a way to get more items in the
month window? I'm using Outlook 2007 in Vista.
