Clock icon and two-day calendar appointments

G

groversdad

When I schedule a calendar item that spans part of three or more days, I get
a continuous entry (like a multi-day item) AND the clock icons in the month
view, but when an item spans only two days the entry isn't continuous and the
icons aren't there. I have the "Show time as clocks" settings off, but I
like the icons on multi-day appts. I would just like to have them for the
two-day items also.

Any other settings I can try? Thanks in advance.

the clocks on a multiple day event indicate that the event is not an all day
event, it's a timed event exceeding 24 hrs.

Thanks for the reply.

Is it the same in newer versions? (I have 2003 and I'd buy a newer version
if were corrected.) Now, anything under 24 hours looks like two seperate
appts. on the month view. Seems like a bug.

Are you making recurring events or a continuous event? If you make an event
that runs for 2 days starting today and ending in 2 days, it will solid
across the days but if you make an event that recurs daily for 2 days it
will look like 2 separate appointments.

I guess I'm not explaining myself clearly. I understand that non-recurring
appointments lasting longer than 24 hours show as continuous events with
clock icons, but to me it seems that an appointment that starts on, say 11/19
at 8:00pm and ends at 5:00am on 11/20 (less than 24 hours but spanning two
days) should also show up as a continuous appointment, and not as it looks on
the month view, i.e. as an appointment at 8:00pm on 11/19 and a different
appointment at 12:00am on 11/20.

Thanks for your time on this.

Its less than 24 hrs so its not all day and shouldn't be in the all day
event area -only 24 hour or longer appointments move into the 'all day
event' block. Since this stays within the time scales its seen as 2 appt on
the calendar.
