Hello

I've had problems naming folders allmost as long as I have had vista. Has
anyone experienced the same thing? Can anyone offer a solution??

Best

Not being able to rename a folder isn't a normal bug. It's totally
unacceptable.

I suppose you have 800 programmers and an unlimited budget available
to test your software before you release it?

There's bugs and there's bugs. "Foo.exe may core dump if version
4.2.3 of the freetzel drivers are installed and the backup data option
is chosen" is a bug. "Cannot rename folders" is negligence.

Didn't that bug exist in vista beta? Why did it appear in the
released version?

99% of Vista users can rename folders without having to resort to the
registry.. quit being so dramatic..

So, once again, an MVP blames the user not the software, using
statistics that he cannot prove if his low life depended on it.

Attacking the messenger once again you moron? Why don't you just STFU
seeing as how you don't have Vista and have no idea what is going on.
You're rather stupid aren't you.

So if Microsoft sold 5 Million copies (probably more) of Vista, by your
account 50,000 users would be affected (1%). Sounds like 50,000 people
would be pissed off. Sounds unacceptable to me! (not to mention those
50,000 users)

MS claims to have sold over 100 million copies of Vista which would
translate into one million pissed off customers.

Dumb assumption that all 50k would want to rename a folder that required
taking possession of.
Get a life.

Only a complete as*hole like you would make such a stupid assumption.
But we've all come to expect such sh*t from known MS haters like you.
Loser.

I was just trying to respond to the "dramatic" response. I don't assume
that all 50k people would want to rename a folder, but maybe if we e-mail
all of them, we can set up a time when they could do a "group rename".

Again, you dodge the subject matter...cause you have a real problem with
the truth.

The actually number is probably more like 99.99%.
