Why Can't I move an item found during a search to a folder?

AQfter compleing a search in Outlook I want to move items meeting the search
critieria to a folder but get a useless message "can't move item" Can anyone
shed some light on this?
 
You didn't mention your Outlook version, but there was a known bug in one version. Make sure you're up to date on service packs.
