Why can't I can't send email with Norton security on?

Until Friday, Nov 18, 2005, I hadn't had any problems sending or recieving
email.I use Outlook 2003.
The following day, I couldn't send or recieve unless I disabled my Norton
anti virus (2005) settings. The only change that I can faintly remember doing
on Friday is downloading some "ActiveX" controls to do an update. Anyone got
a clue?

Not sure, but you might check with Symantec.
That said, as long as NAV is running resident in the background, it's
generally considered quite safe (and often preferable) to disable antivirus
e-mail scanning....
