why can I not see my document

I apparently hit a button by mistake and Now I cannot see my word documents
any longer. If I open them up, the page appears white and I cannot do or see
anything. If I send the document to some one else it opens normally. What
did I do?
 
Well, if others can read the documents, it cannot be a formatting problem.
Have you tried repairing your installation of Word?
