Why are some days of the month are bold in my montly calendar?

When I synch my treo 650 to outlook, some of my calendar items do not synch
and I get a synch log message "Outlook Calendar synchronization failed". I
noticed that some of the days in the little calendar in the upper right part
of the screen are bolded and some are not. this phenomenon is new and only
seems to apply to recent months. Do you know why some of the days are bold
and some are not?

Days that are bold have items with busy time on them.

I have this user who has some days that are busy but not showing bold. So
some days with appts. it shows as bold and others with appts. and busy times
not bold. Does anyone have a fix to this?
