Why are categories not syncing between Outlook and Live?

I have Outlook 2007 and have been using Outlook connector for some time to
sync with my live contacts. Recently I received an updated Outlook
Connector. When I look at my Outlook contacts now (in my live folder) all my
categories have been removed from my contacts.

When I go to LIVE.COM there are a few categories, but they seem to only be
categories where I have an IM contact assigned to a cagegory.

When I assign a category to a contact in Outlook, the category information
is not synced to LIVE, although other changes (such as phone number) are
synched.

What happened to syncing categories with Outlook connector and is there
something I can do to fix it?

Also, does anyone know how to sync contact pictures between Outlook and LIVE?

Not all fields are synced - categories and contact pics are two of the
things that don't sync. Live mail get contact pictures from Windows
messenger or live ID accounts.
