Why am I getting two emails from various senders?

I am receiving two emails (identical) from many (not all) people who email
me. I am sure not all of these people have my address in their address book
twice. And I do not have two accounts receiving email. Any suggestions?

Do you have an anti-virus scanner scanning your incoming mail? If yes, turn
it off.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
