I am a subscriber to Hotmail PLus.

I have been acessing hotmail through oputlook express since receving compute
3 years ago with no problem.

Since updating Interbet Exploxer the other night I have been unable to gain
acess to Hotmail through Outloo Express.

The error message says Access to account denied , Verfify that username &
password are corrrect. which I try and do but keeps stating that it is
invaild.

Error message no 0x800cc32.

Now I cant bring Outlook express up at all.

I can access Hotmail through MSN etc with the same password as above.

Any thoughts ?

well, i suppose that you
are still able to access those
accounts on the web, right?

if so, then it does sound like your
oe crashed. have you tried a chkdsk
lately?

you might also want to test the
o.s. and see if o.e. works via safe
mode w/networking boot option.

Access via OE has been disabled for at least two years now.

Keep abreast of changes.

I don't think that is entirely accurate. Access to Hotmail, through OE, was
continued through grandfathered accounts, not sure of the date of the
grandfathering... I still access my hotmail account through OE, and have
been for years.

I believe, in the OP's instance, access to hotmail through Outlook was
broken through the IE7 upgrade.

Actually, that's not quite true. I daily use two Hotmail accounts via OE,
and because they were created before the cutoff date, I can still access
them this way.

Paid Hotmail accounts can be used with OE.

allow all cookies for live.com, hotmail.com.

Select "Internet Explorer" and "Outlook Express"
under "Set Program Access and Defaults"

Make certain your time, date, and /time zone/ settings are correct.

IE Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>Sites> type in

hotmail.com
live.com

and Allow cookies for each domain, in turn.

IE Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > HTTP 1.1 > toggle on/off; "Use HTTP
1.1 through proxy connections" must *not* be checked.

IE Tools > Internet Options > Security > [zone in OE runs; should be
Restricted Sites] > Custom Level > User Authentication > Logon > toggle
between the setting choices here [All options EXCEPT 'Automatic logon only
in Intranet zone' works for me; currently 'Anonymous logon' is checked]

Resetting either or both of the above Tabs to the defaults might help, too.

Your account settings could have become corrupted. Soemtimes you have to
actually delete an account and set it up again.
