Why a harddisk icon appear at the right bottom corner

I use Outlook 2002.There is a hardisk icon with a red cross at the right
bottom corner.I suppose that something is going wrong.Someone please assist
to remove this icon.

The icon you describe sounds like the icon that is used to show Outlook is
offline. Is there a work offline option under the file menu?
 
Thank you very much for your assistance.I have solve the problem accordingly.
Even I opt for work offline under the file menu,I still can receive mail
right?
 
i think every minute is a bit excessive. for imap/pop3 accounts, every 15
is good. if someone needs you quicker, they will page, call you on the
wire/wireless, or show up @ your desk.
