Who uses/creates files in this directory?

In scratching around for a particular file on my system, I found
several occurrences in the following directory:

C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\Temp\

In the above folder, there were 694 subdirectories, all with names
starting with Tempn_xxx and the .zip extension. The n in Tempn was a
number between 1 and 10.

I'm extremely puzzled by this. Could this be WinZip or is there
something else that creates these directories? The names are names of
files on my system, but not necessarily files I've used recently.

The file I was looking for was named init.com and I found it in the
following directories:

C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\Temp\Temp1_impspace.zip
C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\Temp\Temp2_impspace.zip
C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\Temp\Temp3_impspace.zip
C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\Temp\Temp4_impspace.zip

So frankly, I'm puzzled, since I have a folder in a different
subfolder named Impsapce.

What on earth is going on here?

Thanks.

Don't get bogged down trying to work out where they came from - could be any
app during installation. Most of these files can be safely removed. Download
CCleaner and let it do its stuff. I also routinely drag these files to the
recycle bin without ill effect.
