White Cell Font

Hi
I am using Excel 97 & have set certain cells font as
white, so they are hidden from printing. However when I
select a large range of data, I cannot see the values in
these cells through the shading - previously I have been
able to see all white cells through the black shading when
selecting a large range. Can anyone help as how to turn
this feature on/off?

Maybe you could use a custom format of ";;;" (w/o the quotes).

They still look empty (but you can see it in the formula bar--just like the
white on white format).
