White boxes red squares

Nothing to major happening but I find that when browsing and checking email I
find that there is one or two white boxes with red squares which I assume is
something that is not showing or hidden. I'm sure this never used to happen.
Have changed various setting including java VM settings but to no avail. any
ideas it's not really bothering me but would like to know whats happened.
Have also tried disabling pop up blocker but with same result.

YUP.

If it's OE, click on Tools/Options/Security - uncheck the box that says
to block images in HTML messages.

It happens when using IE, I don' really find it a problem but would like to

Then you must be doing your e-mail on the web, right?

Check your default e-mail settings.

After the installation of Windows XP SP2 Outlook Express will display
missing image icons in mail that links to images on the web. This is an
effort to obstruct spammers from using web bugs (small or invisible
graphics) from identifying email addresses that are actually being read
by people. When this change blocks graphics, a narrow bar appears at the
top of the message pane that gives the user the oportunity to display
the images. The user just has to click the bar to download and display
the images.

i dont use outlook express either to check my emails cause i find it too
confusing, but within an email i too get the white boxes with red x's. but
some of the pics show and a few wont. what gives? and how do i fix it?

Sunshine don't hijack another thread. Just post a new one with your
issue giving specifics about the setup and problem. If you're not using
OE what are you using? Don't you think it's important to give that info?

If you find OE, probably the easiest of all to use, confusing you won't get
much help here either, you will find it confusing.

Instead of refreshing the page, just right link the link with the red x and
choose "show picture" from the drop down list.
