Ask your self this.. Vista currently cost a bundle to Rent.. Yes Rent.. You
have to pay $100 a year to keep using vista.. Look in agreement notes. So
Guess what going to happen.. Consumers cant afford the package as is. 1
licence 1 machine. nOw $100 a year to use it? common.
If you are a one-man shop, I would go with Ultimate and then use VM's to
test with different versions. If you are part of a team, it might make more
economic sense to stick with Business. Of course if your developing for
consumers or more specifically, for media center type applications, then
Business won't be a good choice.
Developers should not use Vista right now (If you are using Visual Studio).
Wait untill they fix the problems with between the OS and the development
side. I am a developer and I wouldn't touch Vista with a 10 foot pole right
now.
tweaked and trimmed down Vista Business without any effects on and in
classic mode.
if Vista at all.
Development Tools will most likely not be supported on the Home Editions (
see WindowsPowerShell.. rtm )
Ultimate eats up too much resources to set up a productive machine with
enough horsepower left for VS or other compiler/debugger stufff ( plus
Virtual pc with eval copies of different windows , maximum running in slow
motion wehen vista eats up 2 Gigs of Ram alone ...
boy how much memory will we one day have to put in our pcs.. only to get
things done in the same speed as WinXP on a 400 Mhz/128 Machine..
