Hi,

How do i determine which version of Windows XP I am on? I need the info to
select the Multi Language downloads for my pc which gives me the choice of
Windows XP RTM, Windows XP SP1 etc...

From 'My Computer', it only reads Windows XP Home Edition 2002.

Pls help.

Goto Start>All Programs> accesories> system tools> System
Info.

Right there on the right under OS name is "Version" that
will tell you exactly what version and SP your running.

Hope I helped,

sounds like you are running the basic version of XP home.

I would create a restore point and install SP1 it will take a while to
download but it does fix some stuff then download for XP SP1. I have not
seen downloads that care about XP home vs. PRO often so if they don't list
both then it works on both the same!

I know that the system should create a restore point before it does the
Update but it never hurts to know there is one there before you start!

Trying to add local users and groups complement in Microsoft Manager Console, windows says NO because i am NOT running XP home edition, and trying to install GPMC.msi ( groups policy manager console), it says NO because i am running XP home editio

Set command shows variable OS=WINDOWS_N

Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer says Computer is running Windows 2000 or greater.
and reports
Check is skipped on Windows XP Home Edition computers.
This check can be performed only on Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP

WINVER command shows Microsoft Windows 5.

WINMSD command or System Information

Microsoft Windows XP Home Editio
version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1 Compilación 260

But this is the best one.

In a MBSA report

Computer is not running Windows OS
