which software to move XP apps from D: to C:?

Which software will allow me to move "installed" WINDOWS applications
from the D:\ logical drive to C:\ logical drive in an NTFS WIN XP PRO
SP2 system [without reinstalling]? I own True Image 9 but not sure if
TI9 can move installed WIN apps from one drive to another.

I have a Laptop that was laid out with a 3 GBYTE C: drive and a 34 GB D:
drive. Windows appears to be installed on C: and I am forced to install
all new WIN apps on the D: drive. I can use my Partition Magic to make
C: partition larger and reducing size of D:. But how do I move WIN apps
on D: back to C:? It is not convenient to reinstall XP by scrapping
[reformatting] existing installed C: and D:.

Having WIN APPS on both C and D drives is not convenient for TI9 backup
images.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I think a LapLink program called PCMover may do the job....but it can
only be registered for one "old" drive...so beware of buying one on Ebay
as "only used once".....it moves installed apps plus all data.....I was
very impressed with my copy...

There was a utility within the Norton Systemworks that was supposed to
be able to do that. I can't remember its name exactly right now.

Perhaps your Norton's Partition Magic will allow you do it too, since it
supports the automatic combining of multiple partitions into a single
partition. You might want to read through the documentation of the
PartMagic more carefully, or give Symantec a call and ask them to tell
you what they have available.

Foe some you may be able to just do a drag and drop. For others there
may be some configuration files that need to be adjusted. You may have
to update shortcuts. I don't think that can be automatised. My
experience is mostly with games and there some can be moved around
without trouble, others require that you adjusts paths in some .cfg
and still others fail completely (possibly due to some stupid copy
protection scheme).
