Which OS to remove?

I did a clean re-install of XP, but my PC still has Windows 98 on the hard
drive. I fixed the boot.ini file so that I don't have a Windows 98 option.
Now that I know that my XP install is working, I want to delete the Windows
98 files. Which directory is it in?

I think that XP is in the $WIN_NT$.~BT directory and 98 is in the Windows
directory. Or, could they both be on top of each other in the Windows
directory? Is there a way I can tell for sure?
