Which dictionary is the Word spellcheck based on.

The Word spellcheck must be based on a U.S. Dictionary. Which one? Anybody
know?

Look at the copyright fine print in the Help > About dialog. For Word 2003
it identifies The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language,
Third Edition.
