Which binary decoder?

I want to download some binaries occasionally but have never done this
previously. Which program and which version of the program, is
recommended for a beginner and occasional user?

The latest one: 1.47 beta. Development has been put on hold as the
author, Ilan, learns to play the guitar (I'm not kidding) but the
program still works great.

Since you are downloading binaries, I would also suggest a tool called
Quick Par http://www.quickpar.org.uk/index.htm
This is a lifesaver-
This works great if you download large binaires. You know how sometimes
you want to grab a binary that has been split into pieces, but the
newsserver has deleted some of them or some are just plain missing?
Well, if the person has included 'par' files, then Quick Par will
rebuild the missing/damaged files for you. Just a thought :)

Might I suggest that you 'munge' (more info:
http://info.astrian.net/jargon/terms/s/spamblock.html) your email
address? That will cut down on the amount of spam and viruses you get in
your inbox.

Also, while I am on the topic of viruses, since you are downloading
binaries from newsgroups, I would suggest you that get an antivirus
program and keep it updated ;)
